What we collect
PicExplainer is built to collect as little as possible. We do not require accounts. We do not collect names, emails, or student records. We do not track you across apps or sell data. We use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Photos you analyse
When you photograph a diagram, the image is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, passed to an AI service to generate the description, and discarded. Images are not stored on our servers. Your diagram library, including images and conversations, is stored on your device only.
Anonymous device identifier
The app generates a random identifier on your device. It is used solely to operate subscription access, school codes, and fair-use limits. It is not linked to your identity.
Subscriptions
Payments are processed by Apple. We receive subscription status, never your payment details.
AI processing
Diagram analysis uses a third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI) under agreements that prohibit using your content to train their models. The spoken voice is generated on our own servers; your text never goes to a voice vendor.
Children
PicExplainer is suitable for students. Because we collect no personal information, there is nothing to delete; uninstalling the app removes your library.
